Alterations partially approved

A retrospective application for a number of alterations to a Sleaford business property has only partially been approved.

Three canopies over the doors of Number 20, Southgate, have been refused by North Kesteven planners who believed they were detrimental to the character of the building and created unnecessary clutter.

Some advertising signage was allowed but a wall mounted menu board, menu and event holders, and four illuminated and non-illuminated signs were refused due to the affect on the building. A television screen in a window was also refused as it was seen as a distraction to drivers. A fascia sign on the east side was allowed and planners offered scope for a single sign on the south and west sides.
