CAR BOOT - Every Sunday car boot sales are held at the Green Man, Fen Road, Metheringham starting at 7am.

Pitches cost £5 and entrance is 20p. Refreshments and toilets are available.

The car boot on Sunday August 19 will see the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance on show from 10am until 11am. Guests are invited to have a look around the helicopter for a donation.

ZUMBA CLASS - Zumba classes will be held in the village hall on Monday evenings at 6.15pm. For more information, call 07772 457923 or email rachael.zumbalincs@yahoo.co.uk.

MAWS MEETING - The Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters Group will be holding their annual meeting on Monday August 13 at Martin Moor Golf Club at 7pm.

THE HUB - The Hub will take place in the village hall tomorrow from 2pm to 4pm. There will be refreshments and butcher and fishmonger stalls, as well as a bike safety check.

QUIZ NIGHT - Tonight (Wednesday) sees the start of quiz nights at The Star and Garter pub. There will be four rounds of 10 questions, a connecting round and snowball game, which starts at £20. The quiz starts at 8.30pm and teams of four are invited, costing £1 per person entry. There will be refreshments available during the interval.

VEG SHOW - On September 3 the Annual Vegetable Show will be held at the Londesborough Arms.

The categories are Best Onion, Marrow and Tray, Largest Marrow and Onion, Best Salad Tray, Runner Beans and Tomatoes, as well as a category for Children’s Best Fruit or Veg Creation, Best Flower Arrangement and Pot Plant.

In the Cookery Class there are prizes for Best Decorated Sponge, Fancies, Fruit Preserve and Pickles.

All entries are 50p and are accepted from 10am to 11.45am. Judging is from 12noon. After lunch all produce entered will be auctioned off and money raised will be shared by local charities.
