A SLEAFORD girl has managed to raise money and awareness of a debillitating spinal condition.

Beth Haywood, 18, took part in the recent Great Notts Bike Ride and managed to raise £200 in sponsorship for the Scoliosis Campaign Fund.

The challenge was a 19-mile trek starting in Wilford, near Nottingham, through the countryside, taking in the villages of Plumtree and Ruddington, before ending up back at Wilford.

Beth, who suffers from scoliosis herself, said: “It was really good, and wasn’t too bad in the sun, I just had to remember to keep drinking water, and I was more surprised because the next morning I didn’t even ache which was a bonus.”
