Big Breakfast event helps boost village hall funds

BIG BREAKFAST - Harmston Memorial Hall committee hosted the August Bank Holiday Big Breakfast on Sunday, August 26, when a traditional English breakfast was served. The event raised £200 towards hall improvements.

JUMBLE SALE - There will be a jumble sale in the Memorial Hall at 2pm on Saturday September 29. Proceeds will go to All Saints’ Church.

WI NEWS - At the August meeting of Harmston WI, members enjoyed a garden meeting.

A competition organised by Maureen Akester was won by Gill and Steven Macadam-Smith, with Mary and David Carvey second and Margaret Searle third.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 11, when John Leatt of Golding Young Auctioneers will give a talk on Trash or Treasure.
