MEMBERS of a youth club welcomed a couple of four-legged guests.

Denise Barritt of Cherrydale Alpacas in Billinghay took along two of her alpacas to RAF Cranwell’s Airplay Youth Club.

She brought with her Theo, on his first visit to the club, and ‘veteran’ visitor Noah and showed the youngsters how an alpaca fleece can be used in a felting demonstration.

They sprinkled lavender onto the felt on one side and laid blue and red merino wool on the other, then rubbed the materials into the fibres.

Once the process was finished, Denise cut up the felt to make bookmarks for the children to take home. The remaining felt was then cut into a heart shape to display in the Airplay building.

Denise said: “The alpacas were very well behaved, even Theo
who was very timid on his first
visit.”
