Church bells ring in Olympics

BELLS up and down the country were rung for three minutes at exactly 8.12am on July 27 to herald the opening day of the Olympics Games.

The bell ringing team at St Andrew’s Church, Cranwell took part in the ‘All The Bells’ event, ringing their bells to bring in the London 2012 Games.

The ringers taking part were Naomi Smith, Trevor Bush, Lynn Smith, Pauline Silvester, Linda Everard, Tina Britchford and Roberta Moore.

The bell ringing team at St Denis’ Church in Silk Willoughby were among those who also rang their bells.
