Church Christmas crafts raise hundreds

A Christmassy craft event has helped raise hundreds of pounds for a village church’s funds.

St Denis’ Church in Silk Willoughby hosted a Crafts by Candlelight event with stalls by lots of local craftsmen and women.

Among the displays on show were crafts, children’s clothing, a stall run by the church committee which included crafts and cakes, jewellery and the Silk Willoughby Art Group also sold paintings created by the members themselves. Church warden Janet Johnson said: “We managed to raise £626 for our running costs which was a very good effort.”
