DESPITE the bad weather, a church fundraiser has managed to raise hundreds of pounds.

To help boost funds for St Andrew’s Church in Cranwell, a garden fete was planned at a parishioner’s home, but it had to be held in the village hall due to the wet weather.

There were still plenty of stalls and activities to entertain visitors, including a tombola, bric-a-brac, cakes, car racing games for children.

Guests also enjoyed strawberry cream teas and ice creams, and the choral group from Cranwell Primary School went along to entertain the visitors, with audience participation.

Overall the event raised £550 for church funds, and the Rev Christine Pennock closed the afternoon with thanks to everyone who had worked so hard to make it a success.
