A scarecrow making competition was organised to coincide with the Billinghay Feast for the first time.

The competition was held from Thursday to Sunday, when villagers put their home-made scarecrow creations on display.

Meanwhile the traditional funfair was in full swing on the field behind the Coach and Horses for local families and visitors.

On the Sunday, tea and cakes were on sale in the market place and the judges awarded prizes for the best scarecrow and for second and third places. All proceeds go towards the Billinghay Swimming Pool upkeep.
