Cyclists supporting churches

CHARITY CYCLE - The Lincolnshire Churches Trust annual sponsored bicycle ride and stride event is taking place on Saturday, from 10am to 6pm.

People taking part will be visiting local churches to raise money both for their own nominated church and for the Trust, which helps religious buildings all over Lincolnshire by offering grants to carry out repairs.

St Andrew’s Church, Leasingham will be open for the day to offer refreshments. The church fundraisers are also holding their Fairtrade coffee morning in the village hall on Saturday, from 10.15am to 11.30am, and visiting cyclists will be made welcome.

The coffee morning will have a home made cake and preserve stall, along with Fairtrade refreshments and a raffle.

LADIES CLUB - The last meeting of Leasingham Ladies Club saw Ben James give a talk about his works in the community department of the Lincolnshire Co-operative Society, which helps groups and clubs.

The next meeting of the club is on Tuesday in the village hall. It will feature a talk by Steve Cullington entitled Lifelines in the Home. The meeting starts at 7.45pm.

HORTICULTURAL SHOW - The Leasingham and District Horticultural Craft Show will take place in the village hall on Sunday. Entries are to be brought to the hall between 9am and 10.30am, with the judging following at 11am.

The show opens to the public at 2pm, with prizes awarded from 3.30pm.

Entries are to be collected by 4.30pm.

GARDENING GROUP - The last meeting of the Leasingham and District Gardening Group was a members’ evening, with discussions regarding horticultural problems people were experiencing.

The next meeting is in the village hall tomorrow (Thursday) from 7.30pm when Neil Timm will give a talk on landscaping and design. Visitors are welcome. For more details call 01529 303323.
