EMAS seeks your views

PEOPLE are being invited to give their views on how they think the ambulance service should operate.

East Midlands Ambulance Service is applying for NHS Foundation Trust status and has launched a consultation on how it should operate as a trust if the application is successful.

EMAS provides emergency 999, urgent care and patient transport for patients in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire), Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

David Farrelly, of EMAS, said: “Achieving NHS Foundation Trust status will give EMAS much greater local influence, giving communities, the people and organisations we work with and our staff a real opportunity to influence the way EMAS delivers its services to the public.”

The consultation runs to July 3. Consultation documents will be distributed widely and can be seen on the EMAS website and public meetings are being held during May and June.
