NEW lunch clubs are opening up around the district for older people to keep active and socialise.

NK Seniors, which speaks up locally for older and more vulnerable residents is highlighting its outreach programme to boost membership and represent more local people, particularly trying to bring them together in rural areas.

There was an opportunity for residents to blow away the post Christmas cobwebs in Billinghay Village Hall last Monday when coffee and biscuits were followed by 30-40 minutes of exercise led by Jacquie Brand. This worked up an appetite for lunch of homemade soup and bread then a short quiz. It is hoped a fully fledged lunch club will be set up from this event in the village. Entry was free, for more information about joining the new club call Alan on 01529 421748.

Another club was being launched at Wellingore Memorial Hall too. A lunch club has successfully launched in Ruskington at the Methodist Hall.
