Library hours are to change

WI NEWS - Metheringham WI will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday, February 15 at 7.15pm.

There will be a talk by Malcolm Earney on the topic Living in the Canadian Arctic.

Visitors are welcome at a cost of £1.50, which includes refreshments.

LIBRARY - From April 1 the hours at Metheringham library on Wednesday and Friday will change.

The new hours for Wednesday are 2pm-6pm and Friday 10am-5pm. Further details are available from the library.

TABLE TOP SALE – Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters group will be holding a table top sale in the village hall on Saturday.

Tables are available at £6 for a 6ft x 2ft table. Call 01526 321436 to book a table or for further information.

TODDLER GROUP - A new mother and toddler group is meeting in the Metheringham Scout hut (behind the Star and Garter). It runs from 10am-12noon. Contact Jodie Peck for further details on 07970069092 or at talktojodie@hotmail.com

BROWNIES – The 2nd Metheringham Brownies held a Tea and Tinsel night at the Methodist Hall. The event raised £180.10 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The Brownies were grateful to the Beehive and Coop for their generous donations and to everyone who supported the event.

FESTIVE LIGHTS – The winners of the Metheringham Christmas Lights competition were Mr and Mrs Tripp in Middle Street.

Runner up was Paul Petch in Rowan Way.

The organizers are hoping that next Christmas more households in the village will enter the competition as it provides a lot of pleasure to people. Entry is free.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - The MACLA group are heading up a working party for Metheringham Jubilee celebrations.

A meeting was held in the village hall where main organiser Sally Wilson arranged people into working groups. It is hoped to hold celebrations on June 2, 3 and 4.

A community lunch is being held on the village green on June 3.
