On-road parking fears

DIAMOND JUBILEE - At the July meeting of the Silk Willoughby
Parish Council it was reported that the Diamond Jubilee weekend
celebrations had been very successful.

Events for all the village included a coffee morning, when children were presented with their Jubilee £5 coins, a children’s fancy dress and a barbecue. There was also a service at the church on the Sunday.

PARKING – The issue of parking on London Road in Sleaford was brought to the attention of Silk Willoughby Parish Council due to concerns that parking on both sides of London Road at the junction with Grantham Road was dangerous. Although in Sleaford this has an effect on residents of Silk Willoughby, many of whom brought this to the attention of the parish council.

Parish councillors agreed this situation should not be allowed to continue and resolved to send a letter to county councillor Barry Young and MP Stephen Phillips asking for their help in putting a stop to parking on one side of London Road.

WHIST DRIVE - A whist drive will be held at Silk Willoughby Village Hall on Tuesday, August 14 at 7.30pm. Entry is £1.50, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Proceeds from the event will be split between the village hall and the church.

GARDEN FETE – Two of the raffle winners from the recent Silk Willoughby garden fete - Sean Watson and Daniel Sutcliffe – are asked to contact Janet Johnson
on 01529 302427 regarding their prizes.
