FOLLOWING a talk by senior coach Paul McCarthy of the Sleaford Laffletics Club for disabled athletes on his role in the Olympic torch relay, the Rotary Club of Sleaford Kesteven has donated £200 to help with the running of the club.

The Laffletics Club started in 2004 and meets every Saturday morning. It offers a variety of sports, including athletics, football, boccia, basketball, hockey, cricket, curling and archery. Members include those with Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD and Asperger’s.

Two of the club’s coaches were involved in the Olympic and Paralympic torch relays, with Paul carrying the Olympic torch in Wrangle on June 27 and Thelma Smith carrying the Paralympic torch in Watford on August 29.
