CUB Scouts were given a lesson in Crime Prevention last week courtesy of the local law enforcers.
The 1st Pointon Baden Powell Scout Group visited Sleaford Police Station last Wednesday as part of their work towards their Crime Prevention badge, and got more than they bargained for as they were shown the inside of one of the cells.
The cubs, who have also been designing posters on the theme of vandalism and learning about Stranger Danger, were given a guided tour of the police station by some of the local officers and shown around a cell. Cub leader Steve Warcup commented that the boys and girls had vowed they wouldn’t want to be in there for long.
The 1st Pointon BP Scouts is one of only two such groups in Lincolnshire. They are traditional scouts, going back to the original guidelines of scouting creator Robert Baden Powell, for example when they go camping, they build their own shelters.
