IT was a day of two halves for Anwick man Terry Coxon on Friday, in that opposite halves of his hair and beard have been shaved off for charity.

Terry decided to raise money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and planned to just shave off his beard which he had grown for a recent film project.

Then he decided to shave off half his beard and half his hair, but opposite sides for more impact, so on Friday he went along to Hair by Edwin in Lincoln and emerged with a bizarre new look.

He said after the big shave: “I’ve had a few funny looks and a few people laughed and smiled but everything is good. I’ve got no regrets and it only feels strange when I look in the mirror.”

His employers at Moy Park chicken
processors have shown their support and he joked that his family were also
supportive of his plan as they were partly glad to see his beard go.

Terry will be keeping his new look for two weeks before shaving off his remaining
hair. He originally planned to raise £1,000 but, after the sponsorship came pouring in from well-wishers, he has now pushed
the target up to £1,500 after reaching £1,220.
