Youngsters suggest skate ramp

SKATE PARK - At the September meeting of Leasingham Parish Council, three young villagers approached the council about the possibility of installing a half pipe skate ramp in the village. They offered to raise money to purchase the equipment.

Council chairman Jonathan Franks suggested that a temporary structure might be a better solution which could be stored away when not in use. It was agreed to put the idea on the agenda for discussion at the next meeting on Monday, October 8.

QUIZ NIGHT - A quiz night organised by the Flower Club is to be held at Leasingham Village 
Hall on Saturday, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets, which include a ploughman’s supper, are available by calling 01529 303033 or 01476 594214. Up to six people per team and there is a cash prize for the winning team.

NEWSLETTER - The deadline for the October issue of the Leasingham newsletter is this Friday. Material for publication can either be emailed, delivered by hand or phoned to the editor. The small box in the post office can still be used for submitting material.

MOBILE LIBRARY - The mobile library van will visit Leasingham on Friday. It will be at the village hall car park from 10.45am to 11.45am.

COFFEE MORNING - St Andrew’s Church fundraisers recently held a Fairtrade coffee morning in the village hall, raising £70 for church funds.

The 200 Club lottery draw also took place and the three winning numbers are posted on the notice board outside the church.

RACE NIGHT - A race night is to be held at Leasingham Village Hall on Saturday, October 6, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets, on the door, are £5.
