Carre’s school days and Sketchley staff

Carre's Grammar School class of 1957.

MICHAEL Porter of Nottingham, a former Sleafordian and Carre’s old boy, has sent in a number of old photos from his earlier life in the town and some of his family.

His old photos we have already printed in previous weeks have already created some interest with people recognising some of his old classmates in a Carre’s picture and one woman wanted to get in touch to find out more information about a long lost relative.

This week we have a Carre’s Grammar School football team from March 1960 from Mr Porter’s school days, a class photo of young Carre’s boys from 1957 and an old staff photo from Mr Porter’s days working for Sketchley’s factory in East Road, Sleaford. It is the technical staff with Mr Porter on the left and Michael Smith and Stuart Stevenson on the right, but can you name the rest?
