FORMER Fulbeck resident Bill Tebb has brought in another image from his archive of village life.

Mr Tebb, now living in Leasingham, believes this latest photo was taken around 1945-46 on Fulbeck Heath.

It shows a freshly harvested stubble field with the collected straw piled high on a traditional horse drawn wagon accompanied by Bob Henson. Can anyone tell us any more about who Bob Henson was and name the horse, (Tel: 01529 416340) or email: andy.hubbert@jpress.co.uk

Surely it was a rare sight to see horse drawn farm wagons even back then.

* On another subject, an intrigued Mike Turland of Sleaford contacted us about the four photos we recently showed from Jenny Stephenson depicting street scenes of the town date 1892. Over the years he has investigated early photos of teh town and their sources.

Morton publishers who printed the Sleaford Gazette started publishing Views of Sleaford and District in album form firstly in 1895. There were 21 scenes, 16 of them of Sleaford, photographed by Mr Norman Snow of local solicitors Peake, Snow and Co.

He belives there is an earlier version of this album with just 15 pictures. but the pictures of Carre Street and eastgate are not in it. He knows of an earlier album containing some pictures dated 1892 but that had gone to Lincolnshire Archives. So he asks where could these latest photo have come from?

Mr Turland went on: “In addition to photography of a professional standard, Mr Snow conducted the Sleaford orchestra, ran the opera company and captained St Denys’ bellringers.”
