THE curtain goes up this month at Belton House with two open air productions.
The National Trust property near Grantham is hosting the first production – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – this Saturday, with The Hound of the Baskervilles to follow on Friday, August 22. Both plays start at 7pm.
A favourite with children of
all ages, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, complete with Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and a tea party with the most bewildering bunch of guests, is being staged by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company.
Follow Alice and the White Rabbit into the enchanting world of Wonderland, where music, fun and the most incredible characters are always just around the corner.
Don’t be late and remember to come as your favourite character – you’ll be able to join in the fancy dress parade of characters from the story during the interval.
In sharp contrast is the story of The Hound of the Baskervilles. You can join the Illyria Theatre Company as the original and greatest literary detective of them all, Sherlock Holmes, and his assistant Dr Watson tackle the most baffling case of their careers. Who killed Sir Charles Baskerville?
