Captain Eric Melrose Brown is a former Royal Navy test pilot who has flown more types of aircraft than anyone else in history – 487.

He gave a talk to a packed room about his career to Sleaford and District Legionnaires Aviation Society at its meeting last week in the Legionnaires Club, Sleaford.

He is the Fleet Air Arm’s most decorated pilot and has made more aircraft carrier landings than anyone else – 2,407, including the first carrier landing by a jet.

Now, aged 89, the captain is still a regular speaker and lecturer.
