SCOUTS, Cubs and Beavers from throughout the Sleaford district took part in a parade through the town on Sunday to celebrate St George's Day.
Taking part in the annual parade were 12 groups from Billinghay, Coningsby and Tattershall, Cranwell, Digby, Heckington, Horncastle, Leasingham, Metheringham, Ruskington, Sleaford, Wellingore and Woodhall Spa, plus two Explorer Scout units.

The parade marched up Eastgate from the North Kesteven District Council office car park to St Denys' Church for the service. During the service awards were presented to adults and supporters of Sleaford and District Scouts, to thank them for their outstanding service and continued dedication.
One of the features this year was a presentation of St George and the Dragon by the 2nd Coningsby and Tattershall Scout Group.

Explorer Scout, Jacob Kirk, 17, of the Nomads Explorer Scout Unit, said: "To scouts St George's Day is an important day. It not only gives us chance to thank our leaders for their hard work but reminds us of our promise and the public that scouting is still going strong."

Awards presented included: Sheila Oxby (Group Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader - 1st Wellingore Scout Group) - Silver Acorn 20 years service; Linda Miller (Group treasurer - 1st Billinghay) - Silver Acorn 20 years service; Lorraine Abbiss (Assistant Cub Scout Leader - 2nd Coningsby and Tattershall) - Award of Merit 15 years service.
