A CHILLY day did not deter plenty of families dressing the part for a 1920s style picnic.
The Coleby Gatsby Picnic had an art deco theme, with people of all ages joining in and enjoying themselves, donning straw boaters and flapper dresses.
Organiser Jill Alder said: "We had croquet, old skittles and boules. There were some nice old cars and a clown with a unicycle and balloons, plus hoola hoops for the children"
The entertainment was all free while grown ups were given lessons in dancing the Charleston Glide and a two-step before bopping away to the CS Jazz Band.
Proceeds raised from the event went towards equipping the new village hall, completed last year, with blinds, curtains and tables.
Prizes were awarded to the best dressed men, women and children.
Mrs Alder said: "We will hopefully do it again next year - we have a very good community spirit in Coleby."
