YOUNGER children at a village primary school put their best foot forward to raise cash to help a meningitis charity.
Reception children at Ancaster Primary School took part in a sponsored Toddle Waddle around the school field to raise money for the Meningitis Trust. Parent governor Lorraine Hammond helped organise the event after her son survived developing meningitis when he was just five weeks old. He is fine now.

She hopes to have raised around £150 from the walk which she thought had gone well.

The rain held off for an hour, long enough for the youngsters to complete the event on Thursday.

They are now planning a fun day for August and anyone able to contribute ideas for it should call her on 01529 455691.
