PUPILS at Aveland High School in Billingborough staged a talent show for their parents and friends.
The show was organised by head of music Gina Form and guitar and vocal tutor Julian Gash.

Parents packed the school hall to capacity to see the pupils demonstrate their musical skills and ability to entertain.

The two-hour show featured a range of musical styles emulating current acts such as Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, The White Stripes and Amy Macdonald and stars from the past, including the Spice Girls, The Shirelles, The Who and Chuck Berry.

All instruments in the bands were played by pupils, with occasional support from Gina and Julian – no backing tracks were used.

Admission was free but parents and guests were so impressed with the show that they made donations of more than £170 towards PTFA funds, with many in the audience saying it was the best talent show they had seen at the school.

Miss Form and Mr Gash said they were delighted with the efforts of the pupils and thanked them for putting on such a good show.
