EDITOR-I believe the population of Sleaford should be allowed a referendum on extending the southern by-pass to Mareham Lane for the following reasons.
Some villagers in Silk Willoughby are asking for a link road to the new A15 from London Road.

If the bridge from Bass Maltings to Boston Road goes ahead without the bypass extension it will result in an increased amount of traffic.

I think they should also impose some restrictions on Mareham Lane to the recycling centre to prevent large vehicles meeting on this stretch of road.

From the letters that have been printed in the Standard on this subject, it would appear that people do support the idea of a bypass extension, or at least do not object to the idea.

I also wonder if the majority of the population of Sleaford and Kirkby la Thorpe would want an underpass under the A17 dual carriageway to avoid the situation of too many lorries carrying straw to the proposed straw burning power station using the flyover at Kirkby la Thorpe.
