EDITOR - With reference to the front page of last week's Sleaford Standard, yes I think all the upheaval as a result of the traffic lights in Sleaford has been a total waste of tax payers' money.

Having spent most of my working life in Sleaford, I feel there would have been a much simpler solution and that would be to have implemented the 'filter in turn' system that they use in the Channel Islands - it works a treat.

And I think it would be of great use at all the junction points in the one way system in town. I know how hard it is to get out of Boston Road in a morning to enter the system and also leaving Watergate in the evenings.

But, no doubt, even this suggestion would put some people's noses out of joint. Some motorists can't even be bothered to leave a space for people wanting to enter/exit Tennyson Avenue.
