EDITOR – With regard to your recent article about Flicks in Sleaford, I am greatly disappointed there is not a way to use this building to entertain the under-16s in the local area.
I am a father of five and have always tried to find things for my children to do in the area on holidays and weekends in and around Sleaford.

Yes, we have the local football and rugby teams, but that is not every young person's interest even thoug
h sport is very good for all children.

Other than having to leave the town and head out to Lincoln or Boston, there are very limited attractions for families in the town.

It would be great if Flicks could be re-opened for the
under 16s as a roller disco and even a normal disco, but not a nightclub. You could start as early as 9am or 10am and be closed up and trouble free by 7pm.

Let's get some snooker and pool tables in there, table tennis and other indoor activities. You could even run a nightly or weekly bingo session for adults.
There are two clubs in Sleaford – Rehab and Sammy's – that cater for the over 18s but I feel that not enough is being done locally to entertain the younger age group.

At the moment Flicks is an eyesore and it is not the image we want to show new visitors to the area.
