This nostalgic photo looks back over half a century to the time of our Queen’s coronation.

Sleaford, along with towns and villages up and down the country, held street parties and other events to celebrate the coronation of Queen Eliabeth II in 1953.

Vic Mallinson, of Vicarage Court, Sleaford, looks back to that time in his collection of black and white photographs of local life.

He lived in Manor Place, off The Drove, at the time, as a child. You can see here the very tidy street was festooned with patriotic bunting and flags for the occasion with the letters “E R” proudly positioned at the end of the street.

Has the street changed much in present day? Can you remember the celebrations? Drop us a line with your coronation photos of Sleaford. Email: andy.hubbert@jpress.co.uk
