Actors wanted for new plays

ACTORS are wanted to feature in the Lincolnshire Festival of New Writing, a pioneering arts project in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Writers and directors from around the county have been selected to take part and they are now looking to audition local amateur actors to perform in a number of diverse monologues and duologues.

Each of these is an original offering from a variety of writers with different backgrounds, covering a wide range of subjects and genres.

They will be performed at Terry O'Toole Theatre, North Hykeham in October. Three of the pieces will be directed by people from the Sleaford area and they will be holding joint auditions at The Hub National Centre for Craft and Design on Tuesday July 6 from 6.30pm onwards.

Jane Guest is directing 'Coughs and Sneezes' by Paula Sargeant and needs a female actor with a playing age of 40+. Gaynor Little, director of 'When I Grow Up' by Anthony Proctor, requires two actresses of a similar age. 'A Matter of Taste' by local writer and festival co-ordinator Kei Bailey will be directed by Kate Sydney and she is looking for a male actor with a playing age of between 30 and 50.

If you are interested in auditioning or would like further information call Kei Bailey on 07813 113230 or e-mail him at kei.bailey@btinternet
