All aboard for an evening of music

TWO acoustic acts called Shake Hands Eric and The Collaborators will be performing for the last music theme train of the season on the Sleaford to Skegness Poacher Line.

A good time is guaranteed on June 25 when music lovers are invited to hop aboard the train from Sleaford to Wainfleet to listen to Spalding-born performer Shake Hands Eric and Stamford/Peterborough-based group The Collaborators.

The acts are looking forward to the train gig and have a varied line-up including Claddagh and The Dead Rabbits’ musician Lin Griffin on accordion, guitar, penny whistle and Irish songs), Tony Dobson on fiddle with Rich, Andy and John filling the aisle doing their wide ranging acoustic chorus classics.

The train leaves Sleaford at 6.55pm, Heckington and 7.05pm, stopping off at the Bateman’s Brewery for more live entertainment before wending its way back again.

This will be Community Rail Manager Chris Watson’s final gig as he moves on to a new job. He said: “Thank you for all your support over the years. The music trains have been a great gimmick for selling up the train service and a great way of getting my shared, sustainable transport, message across.”
