Choral society and schools putting on their annual concert for Christmas

Sleaford Choral Society will be performing its annual carol concert at St Denys’ Church, Sleaford.

Entitled, Happy Christmas, the concert features seasonal carols and audience participation on Saturday December 8, starting at 7.30pm.

The choir will be conducted by Graham Garton and accompanied on the organ by Charles Harrison along with pianist Rowland Lee and Peter Freeman on trumpet. This year soloists will be from the choir.

Tickets are £8 for adults, accompanied under 16s free, from: Soft Options, Market Place, Sleaford, by calling 01529 241204, or any Choral Society member.

* Kesteven and Sleaford High School will be holding its annual Christmas Mulled Wine Concert on Friday December 14 in the school hall at 7pm.

Lots of pupils are practising hard to put on a great evening’s entertainment including the Wind Band, Brass Group, the new Percussion ensemble “Loud” and pupils from all year groups in the school including GCSE and A Level Music students.

Due to popular demand they are having a Champagne Skittle where you will have the opportunity to win a bottle of champagne.

Tickets are £4 to include mulled wine and mince pies, on sale from Monday December 10 to Thursday December 13 from reception. Proceeds will be going towards their Musical the Wiz in March 2013.

* Carre’s Grammar School will be holding its annual school Christmas concert on December 10 at 7pm, organised by the students.

Acts will include the hilarious Jimi Hickmore Experience and popular local band ‘The Substitutes’.
