Choral society’s village consort sings for church

THE Village Consort, a group of about 25 Sleaford Choral Society members who meet after the main season has finished to give fund-raising concerts in local churches, are holding three concerts this year.

The first will be on this Saturday, June 30 in All Saints` Church Ruskington; then on July 7 in Heckington St Andrew`s Church, and on July 14 in Horbling St Andrew’s Church.

All concerts start at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the Ruskington concert are £6 with light refreshments and wine available. Tickets are available from Mary Smith on 01526 830923.

It is in aid of church funds and The Music:Link Bursary Scheme, which offers assistance to young Lincolnshire musicians to attend courses in this country and abroad, helping to make sure live music flourishes in the county.

The music for all three concerts can be summed up as, Summer Songs and Sea Songs.
