A SLEAFORD musician is in the running to be a festive hit with his first Christmas single just released on video sharing website Youtube.
Chris Clark, who goes under the name of Dedboy Chris, could be spotted on Sunday afternoon dressed in red reindeer sweater and Santa hat skipping and dancing down Sleaford’s Southgate, singing into two handheld video cameras operated by friends and flinging his arms around unsuspecting shoppers.
Chris, also known for fronting local group Glass Onion, explained he had finally got around to shooting the amusing video to accompany a catchy little song, titled Christmas Number One, he had penned and recorded a couple of years ago.
He then uploaded the finished article on Youtube, simultaneously releasing the single to download from iTunes and Amazon to give the likes of X Factor a run for their money. After only 24 hours the video has recorded 2,556 views and is doing the rounds on Facebook.
Chris said: “It’s crazy. Feedback has been mostly good. People have been coming up to me and saying, ‘We love your song - it’s the best for years,’ which is flattering.

“I had the idea there had not been many Christmas themed songs for years. You just buy an album and see the same old ones that have been around since the seventies with nothing catchy and properly Christmassy.
“The video was off the cuff. I said I would sing it twice and told them to try and keep up with the cameras. It could be Lincolnshire’s Christmas song.”
