Christmas market getting bigger raising cash for village hall funds

Digby Christmas Market will be taking place again, on November 24.

The event takes place from 11am to 4pm in Digby Memorial Hall.

Attractions include Digby School Choir with carol singing at 1.30pm and Father Christmas from 2pm till 4pm.

There will be a fairground organ and bouncy castle, games and a range of stalls, including local artists, wine, candles and jewellery, homemade seasonal cakes and sweets, a woodturner, handmade toys, cards, wreaths and Christmas decorations and handmade furniture. New for this year are ceramics, pickles, favour boxes, door-stops and aloe vera products.

They will be serving hot soup and mince pies during the day, cakes, tea and coffee.

This annual event is organised to raise money for the upkeep of the hall.

* Caythorpe and Frieston Village Hall is hosting an acoustic singer and songwriter evening on Saturday November 24.

The concert features Heidi Theaker and Friends with doors opening at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £5 including a hot supper meal, available from Steve on 01400 272020 or Bob 01400 272611 or from the Red Lion pub.

* Organisers of next year’s Sleaford Live 2013 music and arts festival working on the programme of events having already secured advertising sponsorship. There is room for more events and they welcome all kinds of performing arts. In the past they have managed to attract at least 30 such items appealing to all tastes.
