Family fun at NCCD

WITH the summer holidays nearing to an end, the National Centre for Craft and Design in Sleaford offers the perfect way to spend your August Bank Holiday.

Join in a free afternoon of fun on Monday August 27 on Eastgate Green from 12noon to 4pm, where you can enjoy artists’ demonstrations, craft, creativity, picnics on the green, giant games including Jenga, Parachute and Snakes and Ladders and Boccia Olympics.

Have your face painted, make a colourful badge and enjoy story telling with Kirsty Mead from Rhubarb Theatre.

Four professional artists will encourage visitors to get involved and have a go at various craft activities which you can then take home with you. Alison Walling will help you create intricate willow spheres and you can get messy making mud sculptures with James Sutton. Phiona Richards will assist with the creation of beautiful pieces of jewellery made out of recycled paper and you can make a fabric postcard with Wendy Bentley.

Young visitors can go on a journey of discovery with the recently launched Explorer Trails, joined by a furry finger puppet. Meanwhile in the Roof Gallery take part in a competition to win your own Makie Doll while trying some iPad art.
