First show in 20 years
Ian Harkess of South Rauceby, exhibiting for the first time in 20 years.
A local artist’s first solo exhibition in 20 years will take place this month.
The show of watercolours by Iain Harkess will be held in the Carre Gallery, 29 Carre Street, Sleaford from Monday, November 12 through to Saturday November 17.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 6pm and Iain will be painting in the gallery each day.
The exhibition is entitled Near and Far and watercolours will be a mix of flower paintings and a selection of scenes from places he has visited around the world, as well as one or two more local views.
Iain, who lives in South Rauceby, is a keen gardener and his love of flowers has provided the inspiration for a series of colourful, striking paintings.
“They are not botanical paintings as such, but I try and capture some of the amazing colours, shapes shades and textures of the flower heads,” he says.
“I’m really excited and of course nervous about the exhibition. It’s great to get feedback from visitors. ”
