STUDENTS are calling for support to fund their opportunity of a lifetime.

Next July, fifteen Year 11 and 12 pupils from Kesteven and Sleaford High School will be jetting over to Mexico for a two-week trek and conservation project, organised by charity organisation Operation Wallacea.

Accompanied by staff members Matthew Clint and Jamie Scholefield, the students will be heading to the Yucatan peninsula to help collect data which will be used by scientists to prevent major deforestation in the area, as well as assisting in the conservation of sea turtles.

To fund their trip, students will be running fundraising activities over the coming months. First will be a race night at Sleaford Golf Club on Friday October 26 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £2 each and can be purchased from the golf club or the school. There will also be a Mexican themed evening on November 30 with music from a Mariachi band.
