Gardeners open for charity

THE garden at The Moat, home of Mr and Mrs Mike Barnes in Newton opens for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday June 24 (11-5pm).

This country garden blends with its country surrounding, features island beds with a variety of perennials, a large natural pond and ha-ha. Also a courtyard and orchard. Admission £3, children free. Teas served.

The garden at Station House, Potterhanworth, home of Carol Harvey will also open between 1-5pm. A quarter acre garden by a railway embankment, a haven for wildlife. Mixed borders, lawns and two tiny ponds. Admission £2.50, children free.
