Half term theatre

North Hykeham’s Terry O’Toole Theatre spring programme for young families opens on Saturday at 3pm with a special treat for half term: Horse+Bamboo Theatre’s The Nightingale, a delightful adaptation of a classic fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Each month the theatre presents a show especially for youngsters aged four years plus and their families and, through the support of North Kesteven District Council, has been able to hold ticket prices at an affordable £5 (family of 4 £18).

In the show, imagine you could have anything you wanted - the best that money can buy. Unfortunately for the little King, he already has that, and he still feels something is missing.

That is, until he is enchanted by the most beautiful sound in the world and finds friendship in the most unexpected place

On Saturday March 16 at 3pm, Theatre of Widdershins present their version of Grimm’s fairytale Rumpelstiltskin and the Wheel of Fortune.

Poor Polly Buckwheat, the Miller’s daughter, is in a bit of a pickle.

If she doesn’t turn a roomful of straw into gold by morning, the greedy King will turn a bit nasty. Should she accept the kind offer of help from an eccentric dwarf who mysteriously appears in her prison cell?
