Heckington Show evening concert a success - VIDEO

Waiting for Video...

THE evening firework concert at Heckington Show on Saturday was another resounding success with more people than ever staying to fill the arena to watch and listen to the sounds of the Sleaford Concert Band, their guest vocalist and the Billinger Ruffs folk band who raised a laugh before rounding off with the War of the Worlds to fireworks.

The Ruffs’ vocalist Trevor Glenn also doubled up pulling on white dinner jacket and tie to reprise Richard Burton’s role as the narrator for the War of the Worlds piece by the concert band, which saw some of the classic words rewritten to include show chairman Charles Pinchbeck as the unlikely hero of the story as Heckington is attacked by Martians.

The concert band also played tunes varying from Abba to sea shanties, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.
