Lincoln Perfoming Arts Centre throws open doors
The Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) is throwing open its doors for a fortnight of theatre, dance and art from Monday (February 25) to March 9, which will offer opportunities for young people to produce, create and explore their creative potential and to see the best in contemporary performance.
The main festival headliner will be Running On The Cracks by Pilot Theatre, which is a play adapted for the stage from the novel by The Gruffalo writer and Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson.
This brand new, fast moving stage play is about runaways, identity, survival and how friendships can develop in the strangest situations.
The festival will also feature The Lincoln Company, which is made up of graduating students from the University of Lincoln with their musical Spring Awakening: A New Musical.
A production of the new play, I’m Spilling My Heart Out Here for 15 to 19 year olds by award-winning playwright Stacey Gregg, will also be performed by The Lincoln Young Company as part of NT Connections, National Theatre’s festival of new writing and young theatre making.
Then, ArtsNK are presenting a showcase of talented young people, with the best groups from this event will go on to perform at the first-ever My Dance festival at the Midlands Youth Dance Festival on April 20 in Nottingham.
