Lincolnshire author Alan Stennett to visit Cogglesford Mill

COGGLESFORD Watermill in Sleaford is welcoming local author Alan Stennett this Sunday (July 15) to mark its book day celebrations.

The writer behind local classics like Memories of Lincolnshire Farming, Lost Railways of Lincolnshire and Nobbut a Yellerbelly – a perennial favourite on the Lincolnshire dialect – will be visiting the watermill to talk about his career, his books and to answer your questions.

Alan is the son of a Lincolnshire farmer and as well as being an author, he presents BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Farming Today programme.

In celebration of Cogglesford Watermill’s book day, children are also encouraged to go along and participate in activities based around displays on the iconic story of Wind in the Willows.

There will also be an opportunity to see flour being milled the traditional way with regular milling demonstrations.

Admission is free, but young people and children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

For more information, contact Cogglesford Watermill on 01529 413671.
