Line-up taking shape for Sleaford Live '10

THE programme for Sleaford Live '10 music festival (April 30 to May 9) is now with the printers and should be available for distribution throughout the Sleaford area from the beginning of April.

Sleaford Live organisers are grateful to all the schools who have offered to distribute the programmes to their pupils, and to the local clubs and businesses who have agreed to make them available to members and customers.

Boston Sinfonia will be making their first Sleaford Live appearance at St Denys' Church on Saturday May 8. Their programme will include Haydn's Symphony No 30 "Alleluja", Mozart's Piano Concerto No 9 (with soloist Nigel Morley) and Schubert's Symphony No 5. More information at www.bostonsinfonia.org.uk

Two gigs should be of interest to jazz fans. On Friday April 30, The Tony Giles All Stars will be performing at The Mabern, Sleaford. This six-piece line-up of professional musicians led by Tony Giles on alto, tenor, soprano sax and clarinet play a wide range of tunes, from well known jazz standards and ballads to some crazy blues and funk.

Then on Wednesday May 5, The Plough at Horbling will be hosting a Jazz and Steak night.

There will again be two evenings of one-act plays performed by Sleaford Little Theatre, Metheringham Amateur Dramatic Society and Horncastle Theatre Company on Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1 at the Sleaford Playhouse.
