Local bands to entertain shoppers at Natural World Centre festive market

The first Christmas Market will be held at the Whisby Natural World Centre on Sunday December, featuring Sleaford musical talent.

On Sunday December 2, nearly 20 local craft makers will be displaying their beautiful and unique designs for high quality gifts and indulge yourself in knitted accessories, glassware, hampers, Christmas wreaths, beauty products, gifts and homeware, plus demonstrations by local craftspeople.

There will be music throughout the day from Billinghay band, The Ruffs (at 12pm and 2pm) and traditional Christmas carols from Sleaford Concert Band (at 1pm). Children can take part in a free Christmas decorations workshop and have a go on the lucky dip – Santa may even make an appearance.

While at the centre pay a visit to the centre’s annual indoor Craft Fair by Lincolnshire makers, which runs until January 6. Items on sale range from children’s toys and wood turned homewares to greeting cards, decorations, stunning art, photography and natural beauty and skin products.

The Christmas Market will take place from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Entry is free.

* Celebrate Christmas in style with a concert of joyful music for Advent and Christmas performed by the Lincoln Chorale.

The singers will perform pieces including Christmas Oratorio, Parts 1 and 3 by Bach, Handel’s Choruses from Messiah and New Year Carol by Britten.

The concert will be at St Helen’s Church, Brant Broughton on Saturday December 8 starting at 8.30pm.

Tickets at £8 are available from Counterpoint Music, 38 Grantham Street, Lincoln (Tel: 01522 560065) or call 01400 273211 or on the door.
