The Mayor of Sleaford, Trevor Mayfield was guest of honour at an annual event held at Sleaford’s Scout Hut.
Four patrols from the 3rd Sleaford Scouts have been working towards earning their cookery and outdoor skills badges proving they are capable of lighting fires, having knowledge of fire safety and skills to live outdoors.
Having practised for a few weeks, the boys and girls were challenged to prepare and cook a three course meal over a campfire then serve it to the mayor, unaided apart adult leaders monitoring.
They laid the table, some dressed in suits and acted as waiters, serving vegetable soup made from scratch, trout for main course followed by a cake baked in the embers and served with custard, washed down with sparkling fruit juice. The mayor, is pictured toasting some of the troop.
