NOMINATIONS are being sought for this year’s East Midlands Food and Drink Awards.

The awards celebrate all that is great about the region’s food and drink, recognise excellence within the region’s dining venues and give a public pat on the back to all those who strive to offer exceptional food and drink.

You can nominate any business or person, whether it’s your local fish and chip shop, a budding chef or your favourite local restaurant.

The awards are open to anyone who runs a local business, is a customer or member of staff. You can nominate your favourites into the appropriate category below.

• Best Bar

• Best Hotel Restaurant

• Best Fish & Chips

• Best Gastro Pub

• Best Tea Room/Café

• Customer Care for Service/Front of House

• Best Newcomer

• Best Oriental Restaurant

• Best Indian Restaurant

• Best European Restaurant (including French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish and Greek)

• Best Chef

• Local Food Hero (achievements of local independent businesses who champion local food)

• Best Venue

• Best Special Event Caterer

There are four easy ways to nominate your favourite food and drink establishments. You can nominate by text, email, phone or online and full details are included at the bottom of this page.

Once you’ve nominated your favourites, don’t forget to vote to ensure your chosen establishment becomes a category winner for this area. Voting will open on Monday, July 23 and details of how to vote will be in the paper shortly.

The category winners will be announced in mid-September and voting will then reopen. They will then compete against the winners from four other regions.

The overall East Midlands Food & Drink winners will be announced at the grand final event at Greetham Valley Hotel on Sunday, October 28, hosted by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli.’
