One-off BBC Casualty role for former High School girl Abi
FORMER Kesteven and Sleaford High School girl Abi Titmuss, who shot to fame as the partner of shamed TV star John Leslie, has appeared on prime time TV in her latest role as an actress.
The former nurse who grew up in Heckington and Ruskington had built a career as a celebrity appearing in lads’ magazines and reality shows such as Hell’s Kitchen before resuming training as an actress.
She has spent the last few years successfully working in fringe theatre before earning her latest one-off role in last Saturday night’s episode of Casualty on BBC1.
She played the part of the mother of a pregnant teenage girl who had herself been a teenage mum.
Abi told the Radio Times that although she did not play a medic, her previous job as a nurse had stood her in good stead.
She said: “I worked in casualty as a student and as senior staff nurse on an emergency unit.
“A lot of the script was medical jargon, which I understood, so that really took me back.”
