WITH the 2009 summer season under way, tickets are available for the hugely popular Stamford Shakespeare Company's showing of The Tempest which opened this week.
You can contact the box office on 01780 756133 for tickets, but the matine performances of Oliver Twist have sold out.
Dickens' Oliver Twist will be showing on the weeks commencing July 13, July 18, July 27 and August 1.
A second Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night's Dream will be showing on the weeks beginning August 3, August 8, August 17 and August 22.
The 600 seat open air theatre in the attractive grounds of Tolethorpe Hall has a permanent covered auditorium and no performance is ever cancelled because of rain. It was described by The Stage newspaper as England's premier alfresco venue and is recognised as one of the finest open air theatres in Europe offering the comfort of an indoor theatre in an outdoor setting.
More than 33,000 people visit the theatre each summer.
Brochures with full details are available from most local libraries and tourist information centres or phone 01780 754381. Full details are also given on the company's website: www.stamfordshakespeare.co.uk
